A Cochrane graphic designer and comic book publisher is looking to open Cochrane's very first comic book store.

Tyler Peticlerc has been drawing, writing, and publishing his own comics for ten years under the name Rebel Comics, and is jumping into a more entrepreneurial side of the business.

He says this is just one way he can make himself more involved in the industry he loves.

"Well I've always wanted to be involved in the comic book industry in some way, I just find its hard in Canada to find anywhere to draw or write comics," he says. "I thought one way would be to open up a place here because its one thing we're lacking here."

Peticlerc explains he began researching the idea last year, adding it would be a viable business in town.

"I found there is quite a bit of a demographic that would like to see that here. I believe with all the movies, and video games coming out based around superheros the demographic for comics is changing, it's not just for kids anymore"

Peticlerc says opening a comic book store would make his passion a full time job.

"Its a first for me, I've just been a graphic designer for five or six years, now im moving on to starting a business. Maybe one day we'll become a franchise and open across Canada, but for now I'd be fine just owning a shop in Cochrane and running that for a long time."

Peticlerc adds he would like as much community involvement as he can get.

He has set up a GoFundMe page to begin raising money for the base costs of the store.
