Cochrane has some amazing snowboarders who continue to make great strides on the slopes.

Evan Riddell,Tyson Lewis, Noah Maisonneuve are all local kids showing great promise as they progress.

Michael Riddell, Alberta Snowboarding Association, Volunteer Coordinator, says it has been a busy time.

"A lot of kids have competed in the last couple weekends. The weekend before this past weekend was the Alberta Provincial Series all the kids that have been practicing have moved up in the series and progressed. You can definitely see the progression in all the kids in all the levels and a lot more kids riding at very high levels and degrees of abilities."

Alberta Snowboarding is rebranding to create better and more events at the grassroots level to encourage younger kids to join the sport of snowboarding in hopes to continue to build the best riders in the world. Riddell says looking at the amount of young talent there is out there will be a tough choice.

"A lot of their dreams are the Olympics, they want to be on Team Canada's team."

Riddell adds while only 6 make the team there are some amazingly skilled riders in the top 10.
