A local veteran and Cochranite is remembering the time he spent serving our country, as well as honoring fallen soldiers.

Retired Corporal Keith Gullons, is an active member of the Cochrane community and former president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Men of Vision number fifteen.

For him, Remembrance Day is an especially important day to pay his respects and remember his father who also served.

"Just remembering them is something that I try to do an awful lot of. My father was in the military too. He never ever talked about the many years he served. God rest his

soul."

Gullons says that it was very different in those days, and that trauma wasn't openly talked about.

Gullons suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and says that although he has both good and bad memories from his experience; his involvement in the war has forever

changed his life.

"I'll never ever forget what I saw, the people that I saw dead. It was a learning experience."

Gullons, along side his wife Darla who is also a  past president of the Royal Canadian Legion; will be participating in the Cochrane Remembrance Day ceremonies tomorrow

that start at the Cochrane High School at 10 am sharp and continues to the Cenotaph.
