The Town of Cochrane’s Parks Department has cleared the lower Mitford pond in hopes of giving skaters more space to adhere to the COVID-19 restrictions.

In a Facebook post, The Town says this is not a permanent skating addition. “The Parks team has cleared the lower pond for an additional skating space, this is not intended to be a new yearly service but to help deal with COVID-19 space restrictions (2m physical distancing for families) in place.  Clearing this portion of the pond will be prioritized after regularly scheduled services are complete. Enjoy and stay safe Cochrane!”

The extra skating space is a great addition after the temporary closure of The Tim Bannister Memorial Rink due to warm weather.
