The road has been good to the Rockyview Silvertips Junior 'B' lacrosse team.

Last night, they won their second straight, this time a 14-13 squeaker against the Okotoks Marauders.

After two periods of play, the Tips were down by two goals but clawed back to take the lead and hold on for the win.

"It was 12-10 after the second, and our team pulled together in the third, socked four goals, and held the lead for about the last five minutes," says Coach Steve Henry. "We played strong 'D' and a solid 'O' to get the win."

"It felt good because we've had a couple of games where we were up after the second. The tables turned on this one, and we were able to get back, take the lead, and then keep it."

The Tips opened the week with a 12-9 rematch win against the J. Mounties.

"It was 7-7 after the second, and I told the guys we just have to play a solid 20 minutes to win the third period and take the game."

"I know it felt great for the guys. They were due for a win, and it was good to get that."

The Tips lost their first two home games in overtime before losing to the Lethbridge Barracudas on the road.

Next week, the Silvertips head to a season-ending tournament in Okotoks on a hot streak. They'll be looking for a little redemption against the 'Cudas in their opening game on Monday night.

Wednesday they play the Mounties and face the Shamrocks for the first time this season on Thursday.

How they do in their first three games will determine who they match up against on Saturday.
