It's been clear from the start that Kananaskis MLA Miranda Rosin supports the UCP leadership bid of Travis Toews.

In advance of Canada Day, she stated the reason for her support.

“Travis is a principled conservative who has proven to be a strong voice for the values of rural Albertans at the cabinet table,” stated Rosin in a June 30 post. “He has a true heart for unity, and an ability to bring people together through the common conservative values which we all share, which is precisely the type of leadership that our movement needs right now."

Rosin was listed among the 23 MLAs who originally endorsed Toews when he launched his campaign.  Additionally, MLAs Sonya Savage and Chris Warkentin are co-chairing his campaign.

So far, Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie hasn't endorsed any of the leadership candidates.

Toews continues his provincewide campaign tour and was in Balaz on June 29. He was back home in his Grande Prairie riding for Canada Day and scheduled to appear in Valleyview on July 4.
