Cochrane families were a bit nervous earlier this week when news broke that the Parent Link Centre's funding process is changing.

UCP MLA for Cochrane/Airdrie, Peter Guthrie wants families to know that the "funding is in place" and that the mandate is to try to "reduce red tape" and "make it easier for both government and the public."

Guthrie points out that often when programs are reviewed, people get nervous and although he understands the reaction that it is not his government's intention and wishes for the public to "rest assured" that they are just trying to make the process more efficient.

Cochrane Parent Link Centre staff, will take a close look at the new funding process and its requirements and will apply for funding using the new procedure framework.

In the meantime, all current Parent Link Centre, resource centre and home visitation programs will continue and remain in place at least until the end of March 2020.
