RCMP have released more information about a plane crash that occurred just outside of the Springbank Airport on Friday afternoon.
It happened at approximately 3:40 p.m.
The 45-year-old man flying the plane was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The 22-year-old female passenger of the plane was taken by ground ambulance to a Calgary hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still not known but the aircraft did sustain damages to the wing and body.
The Transportation Safety Board has been notified and will take care of the investigation.
No further updates are anticipated.
