A brand new outdoor ice rink is being built in Cochrane. 

Construction has begun on the new rink along Fireside Parkway between Fireside School and the new Catholic elementary school being built. 

The rink will have boards and fences to protect spectators. It will also have lights so skaters can enjoy the rink in the evening. 

There are a few other official outdoor skating rinks in Cochrane including the Tim Bannister Memorial Outdoor Rink, Mitford Pond and last year the town flooded a section of land in downtown Cochrane at Second Ave and Second St W for skaters to enjoy.
