Mother Nature held off and gave us a snow-free Halloween but the white stuff is on the way now. 

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for the Cochrane region and other areas in southern Alberta. 

The heavy snowfall is expected to begin today and last until tomorrow.

It will begin in the Rockies and spread eastward. 

Between 10 and 20 cm of snow is expected by Wednesday evening with the potential for more than 30 cm in the mountain areas. 

A reminder to drivers that visibility may be suddenly reduced at times because of the heavy snow. 

Also included in the snowfall warning is: 

  • Mountain View Co. near Carstairs and Stirlingville
  • Mountain View Co. near Cremona and Water Valley
  • Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
  • Mountain View Co. near Sundre
  • Rocky View Co. near Airdrie and Crossfield
  • Rocky View Co. near Bottrel and Madden
