Effective August 2021, Sharon Cronin will take on a new role with the Rocky View Schools (RVS) division as Director of Instructional Leadership.

The RVS board made the announcement on Tuesday, May 4. Superintendent, Greg Luterbach says that Cronin's experience coupled with her dedication to student learning will set the stage for success in her new role.

“With 30 years of experience as an educator in RVS, Sharon is known for making a difference in the lives of students," says Luterbach. "Her focus on leadership and dedication to instructional practices will ensure RVS continues to deliver teaching that best serves all our learners as we continue to implement our 2019-2023 Four-Year Plan."

As Director of Instructional Leadership, Cronin will step into a Four-Year Plan which focuses on literacy, numeracy and helping schools bring their goals of the plan to life.

No stranger to Rocky View schools, Cronin began her time with RVS back in 1991 as a teacher at Springbank Middle School. In the past three decades, she has worn many hats; she's been a teacher, assistant principal as well as principal at Banded Peak School, École Edwards Elementary School and RancheView School where she has held her current position since March 2016.

RVS Board Chair, Fiona Gilbert extended her congratulations in a written statement.

"On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend our congratulations to Sharon on her new role as Director of Instructional Leadership," says Gilbert. "We look forward to her continued leadership and positive impact on student learning in RVS."
