Now that we know schools will open their doors to students in just over a month we can start planning for the fall.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney made the big announcement yesterday saying there will be a lot of proactive health measures put in place at schools to help keep kids and staff safe and healthy.

Things like staggered recess, grouping students in co-horts and enhanced cleaning and sanitizing in classrooms.

If I stop and think about it, sending my kids to school makes me a bit nervous. My kids have not been in crowds for months. They haven't seen the majority of their friends, they haven't been in stores or even taken part in any group sport or activity.

I don't know about you, but I have held off on registering my kids for extra curricular activities so far, because everything in the fall was so uncertain until yesterday.

But, I do know that in my home, life needs to get back to "normal". There are two parents who work full-time and my kids thrive on a solid routine, which has been really hard to stick to since March.

Overall, I am mostly excited with a touch of nervousness.

How are you feeling today? Are you excited or nervous, or both with the idea of sending kids back to school?

Let me know.
