Students of St. Timothy High School will continue online learning for at least two more weeks.

The students were originally scheduled to return to classes on May 3 along with other grades 7 to 12 students in the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD).

Yesterday, Calgary's two major school jurisdictions received the OK from the province to extend online learning for safety reasons. District officials say the decision has been made in an effort to lower COVID-19 cases and help deal with ongoing operational issues.

"We recognize the challenges around online learning and would like to thank our parents, students, and staff for their support and cooperation as we navigate through the pandemic."
