Organizers switch gears for 13th annual Kimmett Cup

It was a difficult decision and one that was not made lightly. 

The 13th annual Kimmett Cup will not go ahead this month. 

Organizer, Reid Kimmett says "Based on the Alberta Government's recently announced plan, the tournament will not be able to be held this winter. "

The annual pond hockey tournament draws hundreds of people to Mitford Pond for a weekend of hockey and fundraising. 

Organizers made the call during a meeting this week. 

"The Kimmett Cup organizing committee had a call last night and we are now shifting gears and working towards a plan for a road hockey tournament in the summer/fall." 

Kimmett says they will keep Cochranites in the loop as soon as they iron out details for the summer tournament.
