Cochrane Skating Club had 8 figure skaters competing in the STARSkate Provincials in Airdrie this past weekend (March 24- 26) which included skaters from all over Alberta, North West Territories, and Nunavut.

The skaters were compared/ranked to other skaters in their respective categories and achieved outstanding results and for many, personal bests.

Coach Karen Allison was extremely happy with the Club's results.

"We are so pleased with our club's performance at the Starskate Championships. Two podium finishes and many personal best skates. It's so great that our club continues to be a force in this sport!"

Cochrane Skating Club's, Sydney Perron, had an incredible weekend where she received a Gold Medal in the Gold FreeSkate event competing against 6 other skaters from across the region.  Perron was also crowned Leading Edge Champion receiving a gold medal and trophy.  The Leading Edge award is new for Skate Canada this year and is awarded to the section athletes based on their top 2 scores from all competitions they performed in this season.
