Overall, the COVID-19 numbers seemed to be trending in the right direction today (Friday, May 14)

The province added 1,433 new cases in the past 24 hours, which is the lowest number seen in a while.

The positivity rate fell to 9.9%.

Alberta’s total active cases have dropped to 23,873 with nearly 2,200 Albertans having recently recovered from the virus.

Hospitalizations have dropped to 713 and ICU admissions remain at 177.

Cochrane dropped to 203 active cases and RVC also decreased to 290.

Regrettably, the one total that didn't decrease was the number of deaths, which saw an increase of five bringing that total to 2,137.

To date, 2,086,589 doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered which accounts for 39.4 per cent of Albertans having received one shot.

There is now 7.3 per cent of the province's population fully immunized.
