Inclement weather continues to extend the Rocky View Schools girls' soccer season.

Thanks to the snow, the last two regular-season games have again been delayed and divisional playoffs scheduled to be completed by the end of this week have been pushed back until after the zone finals.

Due to delays, the Cochrane Cobras have one game remaining against the George McDougall Mustangs and the Springbank Phoenix have yet to face W. H. Croxford Cavaliers.

On Oct. 7, the Phoenix claimed sole possession of first place with a 4-1 win over the Cobras. That same night, the Bow Valley Bobcats fell to the Bert Church Chargers, 2-0.

The Bobcats have secured a fifth place and a playoff berth. They will be facing the Cavaliers in the quarterfinals while the Cobras earned a bye into the semifinals with their second-place finish.

If the weather cooperates, the semifinals will be held on Oct. 22, one of which will be held in Cochrane, and the finals follow two days later in Airdrie.

The Cobras are also hosting the zone finals on Oct. 18-19.

"Fingers crossed for some snow melts," says Cobras head coach Carolyn Mcleod.

We have ours crossed, too.
