Due to poor driving conditions south of Cochrane, this afternoon's game  (Nov. 8) between the Cochrane Generals and Lomond Lakers has been postponed.

For now, the Gens will have to wait to see if they will be able to extend their three-game winning streak when they open a four-game series against the Coaldale Copperheads here at the Cochrane Arena on Nov. 22.

The Gens are scheduled to begin their COVID-19 break after today's game, and exactly when they will make up the fourth game against the Lakers is to be determined.

Last night, Dayn LaRocke turned away 20 shots to earn a shut out in his first game in a Gens uniform. The Gens scored one goal in each of the first two periods before the floodgate opened in the third. Four goals in the third gave them a 6-0 win.

Scoring was spread through the Gens lines, with Patrick Forde netting a pair, and singles going to Jonah DesRosier, Tristan Ripplinger, Ryan Davis, and Caden Chudleigh.

Head coach Kurtis Jones says the Gens improved their five-on-five player and were in the driver's seat all night.

"We outplayed them the whole game, and their goaltender was absolutely unreal. He made some really big saves for them. I don't think in that whole entire game they were in our zone for more than six minutes. We just outplayed them all over the ice."

With a two-week break, the Gens will be continuing to work on their play. The big challenge remains staying tuned up for what is expected to be a tougher series against the Copperheads.
