In just seven years, it's estimated a quarter of Cochrane's population will be 65 or older.

To help better prepare the town to meet the needs of this growing segment of the population, an age-friendly survey has been launched during Seniors Week and feedback will continue to be gathered until the end of June.

"Essentially we want to hear from people about how it's been to age in Cochrane, what some of the challenges are, and it's focussed on three different areas--the built environment, social environment, community, and health support," explains Hillary Cornelius Stormon, older adults community development worker. "The results of the survey will help guide the community engagement process and the development of a plan to become more age-friendly."

The survey will be available at most Seniors Week activities and through the FCSS office, 209, 2nd Ave W. for the entire month of June. People can complete the survey on the spot or drop it off at FCSS.
