While low gas prices are typically a welcome sign for drivers, unfortunately, it's also a  reality of tough economic times.

Gas prices are at an all-time low, in fact, it has been about a decade since we've seen these types of prices.

Some of the pumps across Cochrane are showing prices a low as 62.9 cents per litre.

According to GasBuddy, gas prices are down 28 cents from last month's average of 93.9 cents per litre, and down 53 cents from last year's average of 118.9.

Experts say that the major drop in prices is due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the oil production dispute between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

It remains to be seen if the prices at the pump will further plummet, and how long they will stay there.
