Cochrane's Parent Link Centre received notification on Wednesday that there will be a change to the provincial funding process that will take effect as of March 2020. Until then, all Parent Link Centre resource centre and home visitation programs will continue and will remain in place.
A new framework process for funding requests will be needed and the town of Cochrane's goal is to continue to deliver programs for children and families in our area. PLC staff are optimistic that programs and services delivered by Cochrane PLC and Western Rocky View Resource Centre align with the provincial framework.
Senior Manager of Community Service with the Town of Cochrane Gerry Murphy says "The province is changing the funding model that they'll be using to fund children and family services in the province. We get a new look at that on Thursday when the expression of interest comes out and then from that we will make our application and make sure that we secure funding for the services that we supply to the community"
Murphy says they're confident that their service delivery aligns with the province's new model.
Cochrane's Parent Link Centre currently provides programs for Cochrane families and rural communities such as Bearspaw, Bragg Creek and Beaupre
