Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw has provided modified numbers of COVID-19 cases from December 26.

On her Twitter feed, Hinshaw yesterday (December 27) said there were an estimated 500 new cases of the virus found among 6,900 laboratory tests.  That makes for another seven per cent positivity rate.

The number of patients in hospitals as well as in ICUs remains stable.  No information was provided on the number of deaths in the province.

Hinshaw said the reason for the lower number of cases was because fewer people were tested on Christmas Day, so fewer tests were processed and reported on December 26.

Hinshaw will be back for another in-person update on Monday.
