UPDATE: The RCMP has ended its search in this area. Further info to follow.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area near Mitford Ponds and the nearby pathway next to the Bow River as RCMP and emergency crews search for a person. 

Cochrane RCMP are currently searching for a person in that area and are also using a police dog to aid in the search. 

Cpl. Troy Savinkoff says "There's no danger to the public but we're running a dog and we can't have people around when we're running a dog because we'll lose our scent."
