UPDATE: Cochrane Fire Services water rescue crew has located a body in the Bow River, approximately one kilometre below Gleneagles.

RCMP will be investigating.

First responders are investigating a report of a body floating down the Bow River.

The call came in shortly after 2 p.m. on July 29.

"We got a call from a civilian who said they believe they saw a body floating by in the river, so RCMP and Fire Dept. are putting riverboats in the water to conduct a search," says Cpl. Troy Savinkoff.

Emergency responders are on standby near the Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge, awaiting the results of the river search.

The river search is in the early stages now underway and no further details are available.
