RCMP are investigating after a man in his 20s died at the base of a cliff near Canmore. 

Emergency crews were called out at around 9:30 a.m. on May 28 after getting a report from Kananaskis Mountain Rescue (KMR) that there was a medical emergency. 

It had occurred at the base of East End of Rundle (EEOR).

Canmore RCMP report that KMR had received word of a medical distress call at the scree at the base of the cliff.

Alpine helicopters aided in the search, and the body of a 27-year-old man from Edmonton was found.

He was deceased when he was located. 

RCMP do not suspect foul play. 

The Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from Canmore RCMP.

No further updates are expected. 

East End of Rundle is located immediately west of the town of Canmore.
