Another string of vehicle break and enters and thefts are keeping Cochrane RCMP busy.

On the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 30, police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle, as well as others that had been broken into in Bow Ridge.

A light brown or gold 2008 Chrysler Town and Country with Alberta License Plate LUU964 was stolen from Bow Ridge Crescent in the early morning hours.

Cochrane RCMP Const. Jennifer Brewer says a witness did see the vehicle in the area between 5:20 and 5:30 yesterday morning.

"The witness had seen a male and female in the vehicle," she says. "They scared them off so they weren't able to get a better description, but we're still investigating the other houses around where the vehicles were taken to see if anyone got a better look."

Many other vehicles along Bow Ridge Crescent and Bow Ridge Road were rummaged through and identification, passports, spare change and sunglasses were stolen.

All vehicles showed no signs of forced entry, RCMP know at least one was left unlocked but aren't sure about the rest.

Const. Brewer says all thefts in the Bow Ridge area are connected, but RCMP aren't sure whether these crimes are connected to similar thefts in Rocky View County recently.

"They look for easy targets, the vehicles that are unlocked and have items in it worth stealing. So as always we really want people to remember to lock vehicles, and don't leave valuables or identification in your vehicle."

If anyone sees this vehicle occupied, RCMP advises not to approach but to call 911 right away. If anyone sees this vehicle unoccupied, please call the complaint line at 403-932-2211 and do not approach or disturb it.
