The Rocky Mountain Maniacs are celebrating the return of live concerts!

Kiel Edge, Dustin Alcorn, and Paul McCart are three local artists that make up the Maniacs. “Dustin and I just moved to Cochrane right in the middle of the pandemic,” says Edge. “Paul has been in Airdrie for six or seven years.”

“Our music is across the board. We're obviously rock and roll but we play everything from Johnny Cash all the way to a System of a Down.”

“The whole appeal is at our show, you're gonna like five or 10 songs no matter what kind of music you like.”

The Rocky Mountain Maniacs formed in 2018 with a different line-up but the current trio has been working hard, even with live music not being a possibility until recently. “We were making new tunes and learning lots of cover tunes. The big thing was we started getting into live streaming.”

“Clearly, we couldn't go and play anywhere. We figured out the whole live streaming world and how to get the audio matching and good video. We did a couple of charity events through that as well.”

With live music back on the table, the Maniacs are playing right here in Cochrane with a show this weekend.

“We're playing at The Venue this Saturday night. We're using this as our welcome to the neighbourhood!"

"Typically, we would have a housewarming party but clearly, we couldn't do that until recently, so we're billing this show as our welcome to town.”

Two-thirds of the Maniacs will also be performing every third Thursday at Montana’s in Cochrane.
