A seven-year old Cochranite has a booming business but is making sure to give back.

Quinnley Bruce makes scrunchies and sells them at local markets as well as through her Instagram page.

She then donates 10 per cent of her profits to the Cochrane and Area Humane Society.

Bruce says she's been sewing for about a year.

She says "For a Christmas gift I really wanted a sewing machine so my Grandma came over one day and told me about scrunchies and I started sewing them."

Her business is called Scrunchie Q's.

She says she sometimes has upwards of 300 scrunchies on hand at her markets.

Her mom Sara Bruce says they ship scrunchies all over Canada and have even had requests to send them to the United States.

She will be at the Spray Lakes Christmas Farmer's Market on December 14.
