Meteorologists from Environment Canada are monitoring a line of severe thunderstorms that could produce hail up to the size of a ping-pong ball, very powerful wind gusts, and heavy rain.

A line of severe thunderstorms is moving 20km/h eastbound from near Rocky Mountain House to Morley.

You are asked to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

In the event of a heavy downpour, it could cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

The weather service warns that large hail can damage property and cause injury.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
