The City of Calgary is piloting a new project that will allow adults to have a drink at a park this summer.

Starting on June 1, Calgarians will be able to book a picnic table at one of 60 designated parks in the city and enjoy a beer or a glass of wine in the sunshine.

This designation is temporary, set to run until September and does require residents to get a permit beforehand, similar to if they were booking a fire pit at a park.

We have a lot of beautiful parks in Cochrane. It's going to be another summer where people will be sticking closer to home.

Would having a drink while enjoying a picnic with your family or friends be something you'd be interested in?

Do you think this is a good idea? Or does it have the potential to cause problems?

Let us know what you think.
