Snap Dance Studios is getting ready for another year of twirls, tapping, and splits as dancers get ready for the fall season.

Full dance classes kick off September 12, and Alison Stutz, Studio Manager, says there is dance for every age and ability.

"We've got parent and tot classes which start at age 3 months and go to two years, we have foundation youth and sessional classes, as well as full year recital only or competitive classes."

Sessional classes compared to full year can offer dancers an opportunity to try, before fully committing.

"It really gives dancers who haven't had experience in a dance class an opportunity to test the waters to see how they're feeling about it. The great part about the sessional program is if a dancer is enjoying themselves they can continue on through all three sessions and end up having a full year of dance classes."

There are number of options for those who are looking to dance competitively. From hip hop to ballet and everything in between, dancers 6-18 can pursue a variety of options with most competitions remaining close to home.

"We tend to try and stay local. We travel one typically to Banff or Red Deer and then other than that they are all in the Calgary area."

Snap Dance Studios has roughly 450-500 dancers who call it home throughout the year and recently had a makeover to accommodate it's growing dance population.

"We did a huge renovation over the summer so we've got a fresh bright new lobby as well as a dancer only space upstairs where they can eat their dinners and do their homework and get ready for class."

Stutz adds registration can be done online or pop by their open houses September 1st, 2 pm-8 pm or September 10, 10 am- 2 pm to ask any questions.
