Two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Springbank Middle School (SMS).
In a letter sent home to parents yesterday School Principal, Mary Magee states that the school received notification of the positive cases yesterday (March 15, 2021).
The letter states that the school is working closely with Alberta Health Services (AHS) to ensure that necessary precautions are taken to protect students and staff.
Anyone who is believed to be a close contact with the individuals who have tested positive has been notified and provided with additional information on mandatory isolation.
Magee stresses that screening for illness is an essential part of Rocky View Schools’ safety strategies in order to slow the spread of the virus.
She is reminding families not to send students to school if they are unwell and she strongly recommends referring to the 'Should I go to School Today Flow Chart' before heading out the door each day. You can find the flow chart here.
Additional cleaning of the facility has already taken place and SMS will remain open for in-class learning.
