Junior high and high school teachers across the province have been working hard over the past week to quickly move to online learning.

The Rocky View Schools division developed a revised Scenario 3 online learning plan based on survey data collected in the spring combined with provincial guidelines to include increased hours of instruction from teachers as well as independent work.

Classes will start at their regularly scheduled time; with teachers live on-line for core and option classes.

Grade 7 to 9 teachers will provide an average of 15 hours of instruction per week for core classes and up to two hours per week for options, and the expectation for students in Grades 10 to 12 will be to complete six hours of work per week for each of their courses. Option courses will continue for highschool students wherever possible.

Parents should have received an email from their child's homeroom teacher with further details outlining how their schedule will look moving forward.

As it stands, students in Grades 7 to 12  across the province will engage in temporary online learning from home from November 30, 2020 - January 8, 2021; with a current plan for in-class learning to resume on Monday, January 11, 2021.
