Two suspects believed responsible for a series of break-ins in both Bragg Creek and the Turner Valley areas have been apprehended and are facing multiple charges.

Ian Charles Abercrombie, 23, formerly of Calgary, and Ethan Michael Enns, 19, of Calgary. have been charged with eight counts of break and enter to businesses in Bragg Creek and Priddis, and five counts of wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence.

The RCMP executed a search warrant today (Nov. 20) that lead to the recovery of several all-terrain vehicles, a motorcycle, a covered trailer, and a pickup truck from a property south of Airdrie. The pickup truck is believed to have been directly used to commit offences.

Also recovered was stolen property related to the offences being investigated.

The charges follow a coordinated investigation into a series of business break-ins and ATM thefts in both the Bragg Creek and Turner Valley areas in September and October. The investigation identified several suspects.

"The public has been very supportive of our efforts in this investigation and we’re extremely pleased to report these results," says Sgt. Ryan Singleton, Operations Support NCO of the Cochrane detachment. "This has been a comprehensive effort, and the investigation continues with support from several different units and detachments.”

Abercrombie has been remanded in custody, and Enns has been released.  Both are scheduled to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Dec. 3.

Further details are expected to be released more information tomorrow morning in the ongoing investigation.
