Thanks to an overtime goal from Flames Forward Andrew Mangiapane, Team Canada is heading to the semi-finals of the IIHF World Championships!
Mangiapane scored the game-winner at the 7:48 mark of overtime leading Canada to a 2-1 victory over Russia and securing a spot in the semi-finals.
Team Canada, will be in action on Saturday to take on the United States and a chance at a spot in the gold medal game.
The Flames have three players remaining in the quarter-finals, with Andrew Mangiapane playing for Canada, Connor Mackey suiting up for the USA and Nikita Nesterov playing for Russia.
The World Championships wrap up in Riga Latvia on June 6.
