Team Crough, which includes Cochrane curler Julianna MacKenzie, has notched its first win convincingly at the Alberta Scotties in Grande Prairie.

The youngest team at the Alberta women's championship took a 5-2 lead after a huge three-point fourth end to go on to a 9-6 win against the Selena Sturmay rink yesterday afternoon.

The win lifts them into fourth place in the eight-team draw. The winner of the bonspiel will advance to the national championship.

Today, the Crough rink faces Kayla Skrlik in an afternoon draw.

The team lost their opening draws against Laura Walker and Kelsey Rocque in games that went down to the wire. Those two teams remain undefeated three games into the bonspiel.
