Put away the snow shovels and dust off the clubs - golf season is upon us in Cochrane.

The Links of Gleneagles opened last week and The Cochrane Golf Club has its first tee time of the season at 9 am Friday (March 31) morning.

Eric Kauffmann, Cochrane Golf Club General Manager, says the course "came out well, the greens look great, obviously everything else is brown cause of the winter, other than that it looks good."

Kauffmann adds "This is our second earliest start as long as I have been here"

Leagues at the Club will start the second week of May with a Tuesday night ladie's league, Wednesday night men's league, and a Tuesday morning Senior Mixed league.

Kauffmann said they are planning  something a little different at the course this year " we are  looking at creating a children's mini-golf league for our mini-golf course this summer."  This program will run through July and August during summer break.
