It’s been nearly a year since Cochranites had their world flipped upside-down with COVID-19. Many essential workers like paramedics, police, teachers, firefighters, and healthcare workers have been working around the clock to help our community. A Cochrane-area retreat centre is hoping that they can help these people relax and recharge.

The Crossing at Ghost River is 20-minutes west of town and is offering a discounted rate for these workers during the month of March. The promotion includes meals and accommodation, with one or two-night options available.

Jori Guetg, The Crossing General Manager says that they want to use this time to give back. “Just as many other hospitality operations, The Crossing experienced a difficult 2020. However, the unprecedented gift of time has afforded us the ability to devote our efforts to start a community outreach initiative.”

“To date, we have delivered more than 6,000 meals, 3,000 containers of soup to charities, and front-line workers. The special offer for essential workers is another initiative for us to give back and support the community by providing a place for people to relax in a serene and peaceful environment.”

Essential workers are encouraged to contact The Crossing for more information on how to book their stay.
