This is the second year that The Man Van will be in attendance at the Cochrane Men's Bonspiel this weekend. Ken Rabb, Program Manager of The Man Van says the bonspiel is a great partner because "We go where men go and there's going to be lots of guys down there but you don't have to be participating in the event to come down. We want anyone from the public to come and join us. There is no appointment necessary. "

The Man Van is one of a kind and has been operating in conjunction with the Prostate Cancer Centre for ten years. In that time, over 50,000 men have been tested in the van. Rabb describes The Man Van as, "A mobile men's health clinic, it looks like an RV. It is set up with medical stations and we provide several health tests including a baseline PSA or prostate-specific antigen blood test (which can aid in the early detection of prostate cancer), blood pressure, blood sugar, waist circumference, and a stress check depression screening."

Rabb also says the reasons The Man Van has been successful over the years is, "Because it isn't a doctor's office. We try to make it easy for guys, there's no appointment necessary. It's free and it's fast. It's a pretty relaxed environment we have nice leather chairs and a big-screen TV. We try to make it welcoming for guys."

The Man Van will be at the Cochrane Men's Bonspiel on Saturday, January 25 from 12-3 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre. Ken Rabb wants to let you know, that if you can't make it on Saturday you can always go to getchecked.ca to find out where The Man Van will be next.
