The Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane and Area are gearing up for their 3rd Annual Breakfast with Santa event, and there's still time to register.

This year's event has been modified to comply with COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Jill Bilodeau is the Executive Director of the local Boys & Girls Club and she says that with enhanced COVID-19 measures in place, they have decided to do a drive-thru event.

"Families are going to remain in their car and go to different stations," says Bilodeau. "There are going to be theme stations based on movies and they're going to get take-aways. At the Polar Express station, they're going to get their hot chocolate, coffee and cookies delivered by waiters just like you would see in the Polar Express movie."

Bilodeau says although the event will look different this year, there is still lots of fun take away activities for the entire family to enjoy, including a surprise "invitation to play."

"Each child is going to take away an invitation to play bag," says Bilodeau. "So they can go home and play with the items that are in the play bag."

As always, the highlight of the event is seeing and meeting with the big guy. Due to COVID-19 safety measures, kids will need to stay socially distant from Santa, however, Bilodeau says that each family will receive a designated time slot to visit with Santa and take pictures 'near' him on his sleigh.

"Families are going to have the opportunity to get out of the car during that station and stand in front of Santa," says Bilodeau. "So Santa's going to be sitting on his sleigh and families will be able to stand right in front of Santa and then a photo can be taken."

Registration is now open for the 'Breakfast with Santa' event and families can get tickets until December 4, or while tickets last. Bilodeau says that five out of the seven time slots are already sold out.

The 'Breakfast with Santa' event is taking place on Sunday, December 6. To register for this year's event, click here.
