Time to grab your skates for the first outdoor icetime of the season.

The Tim Bannister Memorial rink on the east side of Cochrane is now open for everyone to enjoy.

The Town of Cochrane's Facebook page made the announcement acknowledging the hard-working Parks Department.

"With the recent cooler temperatures, our Parks team has been busy preparing local community rinks just in time for the holiday season."

The rink has lights installed to keep everything bright until 10 p.m. every night. Lights out mean the rink is closed for the evening and skaters are asked to stay off until morning.

The Upper Mitford Pond ice surface has yet to open but with a string of cold weather approaching in Cochrane, the Town is hopeful to update the conditions soon.
