The Bow Valley Timberwolves have named their head coaches for their peewee and bantam teams for the 2020-21 season.

Shawn Forrest is returning as the bantam AA coach.

Forrest returns to continue to share his life-long passion for the sport and his vast hockey knowledge acquired from years of playing, training and coaching.

Cochrane's Alec Miller will be stepping up as the new head coach of the peewee team, where he was an assistant coach for the past two seasons.

A 16 year resident of Cochrane, Miller was a goaltender in the CMHA system from 2004-2012. He is a goaltending coach with P3 and a goalie coach/coach with the Bow Valley Timberwolves program.

In other minor hockey news, the Airdrie-Cochrane Athletic Association is seeking a head coach for a 15AA Midget team competing in a new division of the South Central Alberta Hockey League.

The team will play a 30-game regular season and practice in both Cochrane and Airdrie. It will have a modified draw zone, similar to that of the AAA elite leagues played in by the AC Avalanche and CFR Chemicals Bisons.

That competition closes on May 22.

The new team is currently holding a name/logo contest that closes on June 3.
