Two cleanup sessions over the weekend have helped to make Cochrane that much cleaner.

Organizer Singh Palwinder (Paul), of the Cochrane Immigrant Services committee, says they were pleased to have 54 participate over the two days that saw trash collected from public land and parks in eight Cochrane neighbourhoods.

"It's the place we live, and we have to make sure it remains clean and beautiful. It's for everyone."

He says, overall, Cochranites are respectful of public places.

"Overall, it wasn't bad," says Palwinder. "They were in pretty good condition. It shows people are taking responsibility."

Palwinder was pleased to have Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie and town councillor Marni Fedeyko participate.

He was especially impressed with the number of youth who participated, calling them good role models.

Plans are in the works to complete the last few neighbourhoods.
