The town is preparing a list of projects that are shovel-ready or near shovel ready in hopes of capitalizing on the province's push for capital projects that can begin right away to put Albertans back to work.

Interim Chief Administration Officer Drew Hyndman says a list is currently being compiled that will be presented to government officials, in coordination with town council, administration, and Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie.

"We're looking at a few different options," says Hyndman. "Infrastructure, transportation, economic development opportunities and some of the social projects as well."

It was also a point town councillor Alex Reed pressed home during Tuesday night's town council meeting.
