The UFA has continued its tradition of supporting bonspiels of the Cochrane Curling Club.

Yesterday, they presented $1,200 to the club, $300 for each of their four major annual bonspiels.

UFA chief corporate affairs officer Bob Fink says it's all about supporting the communities they serve.

"If you look at the events and how well organized they are, they're fantastic events to support. There are a lot of teams from all over the place, and they bring people together. That's also what UFA does."

Kendall Waiting, of the local curling club, says they've enjoyed the sponsorship for the last five years.

"It's an amazing partnership we've had over the years that allows us to make sure we have quality bonspiels," says Waiting. "UFA supporting us, our local farmers, and local members. It's a fantastic time for all of us."

The funding assists the junior, men's, women's, and mixed bonspiels.

The sold-out men's bonspiel continues today. The finals are this afternoon.
