Cochranites are in for a treat when they visit Historic Main Street.

All part of the downtown revitalization project, just south of 4th ave, artwork of Cochrane's history is beautifully displayed.

Little Monkey Metal Works from Okotoks created the five signature pieces: Man of Vision, Pioneering Women, Senator Matthew Cochrane, Chief Walking Buffalo, and CP rail, the artwork aligns with company's previous artwork displayed on lampposts around town.

Mayor Ivan Brooker says this is basically the start of some big changes coming to main street.

"It's basically the start of our summer program of what council approved last year. We're going to start going all the way down main street; new trees, benches, planter boxes, I already think our main street is second to none and this is only going to further add to it."

Brooker is hoping all community members and tourists take in the new feature.

Council approved a $840,000 budget towards revitalizing the historic area.
