The number of firearms seized in Morley late May 7 even surprised the attending RCMP officers

Acting upon a complaint, the Cochrane RCMP conducted a warranted search that lead to a total of over 60 charges laid against two Morley men.

They attended the house where the weapons and suspects were located and kept watch until they had the authority to conduct a search.

"We secured it, pending a search warrant, and we kept members by the residence," explains Corporal Troy Savinkoff. "Then after getting judicial authorization, we executed the search warrant. We were actually pretty surprised to see the number of firearms that we did seize."

They weren't your typical hunting weapons.

"These were weapons that we believe are directly associated with the drug trade," says Cpl. Savinkoff. "Some of the weapons had been modified. Some were almost homemade, and others were modified to make them easier to carry and conceal."

Also,  63 grams of methamphetamine was discovered concealed in the pants of one of the suspects.

Carlyle Holloway, 40, of Morley, has been charged with 58 different offenses, including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, 55 charges for weapons offenses, and two 2 charges for breaches of conditions.

He has been remanded for appearance in Cochrane Provincial Court on May 12.

Tommie Borris Holloway, 30, of Morley has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and four charges for weapons offenses.

He has been released on $2,500 no cash bail and will appear in Cochrane court on July 21.

Charges are pending against two other individuals.
