One man and a youth have been charged in relation to the suspicious death on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.

On Sunday, Aug. 7, 21 year old Kori Wesley of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation was found deceased near the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds, the death was quickly deemed suspicious.

Cochrane RCMP were able to identified the suspect, with help from both Calgary and Lethbridge Forensic Identification Sections, RCMP Police Dog, and the K Division Interview Assistance Team.

On Aug. 7, 20 year old Tylen Tray Poucette was arrested without incident, he has been charged with 2nd degree murder and has been remanded in custody.

He will appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Aug. 16.

On Aug. 11 a 17 year old of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation wanted on a warrant in relation to the homicide was arrested in Red Deer.

The youth cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, he is currently in police custody and a judicial interim release hearing will be held.

The investigation is ongoing.
