Thousands of flapjacks and sausages were served during Stampede celebrations in Cochrane.

Breakfasts were served by a variety of businesses and organizations who wanted to show off their Stampede pride and enthusiasm.

Robin Mitchell, General Manager of Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) says despite the rainy weather during the SLSFSC Stampede breakfast they managed to still serve breakfast to over 1000 people, inside Totem 1.

"We've had a great turn out. It's great inside, we just had the dancers inside, we had live music that was going on, we have face painting and with not having the rain coming down and inside in Totem 1 arena, fantastic."

SLSFSC has been doing up a pancake breakfast for the past 4 years and each year they get better and better.

"We've had an awful lot of people come in and volunteer their services and time for the Stampede breakfast and we really appreciate it."

Ken Morris, owner of Royal LePage Integrity, has been a part of Stampede breakfasts for the past 14-15 years. Morris says depending on the year they can serve lots of pancakes.

"We have seen crows anywhere from 500-600 people up to 1000 to 1100 people."

Despite the rain, Morris was pleased with the turn out.

"Pretty good crowd here, even with the rain they are out here having a good time and enjoying the music."

MP Blake Richards and MLA Cameron Westhead got into the festivities and helped serve.
