Making sure Cochrane's Canada Day party runs smoothly requires your help.

Thousands of Cochranites are gearing up to celebrate Canada's 157th birthday, but in order for everything to go off without a hitch, organizers are on the hunt for more volunteers.

There are still multiple shifts available in different areas including general setup, the Kids Zone, fireworks and take down.

Canada Day will kick off with live music at 12:15 p.m. at Mitford Park and will include entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy all day long.

As always, Canada Day is free to attend in Cochrane.

Party goers are asked to bike, walk or take the Southland Shuttles or COLT to Mitford Pond on Canada Day as there is very limited parking in the area and no parking on site.

The fun-filled day will finish off with a bang with a fireworks show at 10:45 p.m.

91.5 CochraneNow's Eric Ruttle and Lauren Meister will MC the event.
